Smithsonian exhibit spotlights cats in American Art

“Before Internet Cats: Feline Finds from the Archives of American Art,” an exhibit at the Smithsonian’s Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture, “is based on the idea that the Internet is this vast, endless source of information that has this unofficial mascot — the kitty cat,” says curator Mary Savig. The exhibit shows that cats have not only been the subject of art for centuries but have also inspired artists.Smithsonian online (5/9)
