Avoid feeding pets food intended for people

Certain foods people eat regularly can be deadly threats to pets, according to FDA veterinarian Carmela Stamper. Dangerous food items include grapes, raisins and currants, which may cause kidney failure in dogs; onions, garlic, chives, garlic powder and onion powder, which can affect dogs; and foods high in salt, fat or mold.
