Cats are the most common pet in America, according to industry data, with close to 86 million found in US households. But nearly 45% of those cats fail to receive regular veterinary care, AVMA data show. Cats tend to hide symptoms, so slowly progressive symptoms can easily be missed by owners. It’s one of numerous reasons cats should be seen regularly by a veterinarian, who will also address vaccines, nutrition and lifestyle issues at routine appointments.
