Tufts veterinarian to give chicken a prosthetic leg

A chicken will undergo surgery at Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine so she can be fitted with a 3D-printed prosthetic limb. Born with a torn tendon, the bird requires amputation and imaging to prepare for the fitting. Veterinarian Emi Knafo said she thinks this will be the first such procedure performed on a chicken.
