Tainted feed kills horses

This is tragic.  They ate it for a month before they knew of it.

Four horses that ate feed tainted with monensin and lasalocid at Masterpiece Equestrian Center in Davie, Fla., have died since October. The rest of the 18 horses there that ate the contaminated feed are deteriorating and expected to die or be euthanized soon, too, although the owners in the meantime are working to keep the animals comfortable. “It’s not that they are hoping for a miracle,” attorney Andrew Yaffa said. “This is a loved member of their family.
